1. Just snap a vector between a similar base point on both objects.
2. Re-size the vector with Info Box to the new spacing (without checking the 'use select handle' . It will re-size from its center point.
3. Now move the 2 objects to the ends of the vector using the same handle points that the vector was snapped to originally.
4. Delete the vector.
