1. In the "Dimension Text" dialog there is a "Fixed Text" option. Enable this and the text in the dimension will be locked after the dimension is created. For example, if the measured distance is 10 the dimension text will read "10." If you scale the drawing with the "Units" function the value will still read "10."

Then if you select the dimension, open the Info Box and deselect "Fixed Text" the dimension value will change to the new actual value in the scaled drawing.

You can select an existing dimension and enable/disable the "Fixed Text" option. When enabled, whatever value the text has will be locked.

2. When you create a dimension and enable the "Fixed Text" option you can enter any alphanumeric value in the fixed text box and that value will display in the dimension. For example, you can enter "L" or "W" or "D" in three dimensions. Then you can place a table in the drawing with dimensions for "L," "W" and "D" at different scales, or in different units of measure (mm, inches, etc.).

You can also enter a new alphanumeric value into an existing dimension from the Info Box by enabling "Fixed Text" and typing in any new value.

3. You can scale individual dimension values with the "Units Multiplier" option. When this is enabled you can enter a value into the "Multiplier" box and the measured distance will be multiplied by the multiplier value. For example, suppose you duplicate a part of a drawing and then create a detail scaled 4X with the "Scale" function. Now dimensions will be 4 times too large for the detail. Either create new dimensions with the "Units Multiplier" enabled and a multiplier value of 0.25 or edit existing detail dimensions and set a multiplier value of 0.25. This will divide the measured distance by 1/4 so the dimension shows the desired value.

4. You can disable all other parts of a dimension except the text so only the text value appears.
